2 Sad Performances From Home Team

With the series at 3-1 in favor for the San Antonio Spurs, the Miami Heat had better find the energy to match the Spurs or whatever they have left to try and win another series game before being beat by the same team they caught off guard last year with the series at 3-2 and a dire game 6 win that sparked the Heat championship. 

The keys to San Antiono's success from the last two games have been good leadership, players stepping into their roles and players coming off the bench and giving great minutes. A prime of example Patty Mills, coming in playing 16 minutes, 5/8 from the floor, 14 points and 2 assists. 

The spotlight has been taken this series by Spurs Forward Kawhi Leonard, the kid can just play good basketball. 

Tonight, Lenoard posted another 20 point ball game to help lift the series lead to 3-1 . He's dominated Lebron James when guarding him, crashed the boards averaging 6 rebounds a game and shooting 50% from the floor. The heat just can't seem to find an answer for him. 

As for the Heat the "Big 3", it's really become  a "Big 2", with Lebron and Chris Bosh averaging 27 points and 16 points this post season. D.Wade and Chalmers need to step their game up only averaging a combined 29 points this post season. Tonight especially , Wade continued to struggle from the floor going 3/13 and Chalmers going 2/6 for 4 points. 

As a die hard Miami Fan I'd hate to see the possible 3 Peat of a Championship completely demolished by a tenacious San Antonio Spurs. 

So Miami better step it up in San Antonio, Sunday @8pm, the place where they were routed 110-95 or be ready to go home with the same disgusted feeling in they were left with in 2010 Playoff series in Dallas.

They may need more than Skittles in Seattle

Sources close to the Seattle Seahawks has notified the team that it's likely possible for a Marshawn Lynch no show.

I don't find this crazy because this same tactic is used by a large number of the NFL's premier athletes to settle contract disputes and get the money they feel they're entitled to.

This offseason for the Seahawks has been on shaky terms for the team and their pro bowl, running back. Lynch has missed all organized team activities so far.

Rumors have begun to circulate that Lynch is unhappy with the numbers and terms of his contract. It's also said that Marshawn Lynch could be dealing with other off the field issues besides this one.

This isn't much of a shock to the Team, because last year he skipped out on a number of OTAs. Although, if Lynch skips out on this year's minicamp he'll have to pay a hefty fine of close to $70,000. 

For the Seahawks, if they want to repeat the same season they had or make sure they have the right pieces to the puzzle, like their all-star "Beastmode" RB they should look into the issue and see what's really behind  this possible no show.

But a source of PFT has said that Lynch hasn't said anything to the team on his plans.

In my opinion, I think Lynch may be unhappy with his contract just like other top running backs in the NFL. This past season Lynch rushed for close to 1300 yards and should be paid like the other top performers in their own perspective positions.

The running back position is quickly becoming to be devalued with the league switching to the air show of spread offenses wit running backs that come out of the backfield and catch passes.

Other examples of underpaid running backs are the extremely talented Steven Ridley who rushed for over 1000 yards, which we all know isn't the easiest accomplishment amongst back in the NFL, he's only set to make only over $1 million. The best example Chris Johnson possibly one of best backs to play the game is only making $8 million, while some wide receivers are making over $12 million.

I just believe the toughest position on the field besides QB should be paid for their hard work

New Knicks President Phil Jackson Making Moves!

Announced early this morning, former NBA players Union President Derek Fisher as the Knick's new head coach. It has been known that Derek Fisher has always wanted to be a head coach or a coach of some sort just by his on court demeanor. 

Derek Fisher now 39, has been around the game and Phil Jackson for a long time. He played for coach Phil Jackson for nine season and won 5 NBA Championships. 

In my opinion, Derek Fisher is a great candidate and fit for the job. He's a very poised NBA veteran that knows the game of basketball like the back of his hand.

Derek Fisher has been in the NBA and associated with the league for 18 years, within those years, Derek Fisher drafted in 1996 by the Los Angeles Lakers, has played for 5 different organizations. (Lakers,OKC Thunder, Dallas Mavericks, Utah Jazz, Golden State Warriors)

He will be a great fit because the NBA is slowly transitioning to a period of younger head coaching. Derek Fisher is now the 3rd youngest coach in the NBA. 

Similar to Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd, Fisher has made the move from playing to directly coaching and has a long journey ahead of himself, but will do just fine in my opinion because if Jason Kidd can turn a Brooklyn Nets team from an average NBA caliber team to a playoff level, Fisher will follow the same successful path and likely surpass his counterpart , and achieve a championship to accompany top NBA scorer Carmello Anthony. 

Although, the Knicks struggled this past season only wining 37 games, but with new President Phil Jackson and Fisher, things will soon turn around. Another positive is the Knicks could land a top pick in this next year's draft on the 26th of this month. 

It's usually common for organizations to hire players that have a past with the team and organization but the team is in a rebuilding and transitioning phase, So Fisher is a reasonable and safe choice for the Knicks, as they build team cap and space to build up a new team that in the future will be a championship contender. 

According to ESPN and Yahoo Sports, Derek Fisher signed has been signed for a 5 year/ 25 million dollar contract. Now that's cash and a power move !

Too much or Genius ?

Over the past couple of years, technology advances have driven through the roof, especially with the "Hologram."

With months in preparation and close to 400,000 dollars, the technology takes graphic images and turns them into lifelike 3D images of individuals and syncs them with their audio tracks and past movements on stage.

Tupac was one of the first to be aired in this new type of Hologram. His performance took place at the Coachella Music Festival in 2012.

At first people were dumbfounded because they didn't know how to react to the Hologram. But soon the crowd of Tupac lovers joined in the singing of his hit songs.

Tupac's hologram was accompained by his long time friend and label member Snoop Doggy Dog. Also on stage was Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent and Wiz Khalifa.

The entirety of the project was in vision of Dr. Dre, his idea of to bring this back to life and give the fans a taste of the great Tupac Shakur.

Wu-Tang Clan member, ODB was another popular artist produced at Rock The Bells last year.

The hologram joined the Wu-Tang Clan's performance, but during the beginning it became a bit of a disaster because the other members began to lose sound, one member, Method Man was angry because of the malfunctions. Method Man was also angry because he felt like the crowd wasn't hype enough to his liking.


A few minutes went by and right before other members began to become embarrassed the hologram showed up and the crowd got hype and went nuts!

But there's one artist above all, the great MICHAEL JACKSON

When I heard about the creation of his hologram I was extremely excited as were millions of other MJ fans. There has been buzz about his hologram performance at the Billboard Music Performance last month.

The true King of Pop ripped the stage, and did the amazing moonwalk. He performed a song from his latest album "XSCAPE", the song titled "Slave To The Rhythm", is one of many tracks that were produced from 1983- 1999 and simply didn't make it to any of his albums.

The album "XSCAPE" was produced by some of  the great musical producers Timbaland, Babyface, Rodney Jerkins, Daniel Jones, L.A. Reid, Cory Rooney, Stargate and Giorgio Tuinfort

After the performance many people were in tears from the sight of the so lifelike image of MJ and he was given a standing ovation from the audience as always.

He was wearing an elegant sparkling gold jacket and red pants.

After the positive feedback from the performance, LA Reid, Epic Records manager and some of the Jackson Brothers decided to take the idea to tour. The two year, world tour could haul in an estimated half a billion dollars.

In my opinion the Billboard Music Performance was one thing and I loved it. It was amazing to see the King of Pop re-lived in a instance, but the whole album release is very faulty and demeaning to what MJ stood for as an artist.

I don't think it's right to find new ways to make money from the dead when his estate has already made close to a billion dollars after his death. I believe if the performance is free and at something like an awards show its one thing, but to use someone to make money is wrong.

Other artist soon to be "hologramed" are said to be the great Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Aliyah, Donny Hathaway, Lisa Left Eye, BIGGIE SMALLS, BOB MARLEY and many others.

If these become a fad , they will be amazing at first but could soon ruin what we have left behind from musical greats and honor their music the simple way.

Belmont Stakes!

Glued to our TV sets, and over 150,000 excited fans at the venue, everyone's eyes were set on the 2 time champion, California Chrome with the chance of its 3rd crown in conversation and high possibility.

          

This past Saturday we were all shocked with the results! 

The winner of the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes was defeated surprisingly defeated by Jockey, Joel Rosario's "Tonalist." California Chrome was highly favored to win the third jewel of the Triple Crown. 

It would have been amazing for the title, because a win for California Chrome would have put the horse in history as one of the few to achieve the Triple Crown since 1978, when "Affirmed" reached the title. 

Again?!

Recently, it seems like everyday there's some celebrity being exposed for their racist comments and actions in the media. People will claim , "Oh I'm not a racist" or "racism isn't alive" but why lately have so many people been leaked in their racist moments? For the last couple of months there have been two rich and popular individuals exposed to the public. (Donald Sterling, Justin Bieber) 

I feel racism is a double sword in our society. With us normal people not in the public spotlight, we have to watch what we say to a certain extent because of the fear of negative perception, but for the famous and rich its a completely different story. 

As a society we buy these people's music, support their teams, watch their movies, but when they make the decision to say derogatory and extremely hateful comments why do we allow them to get a free pass? 

In my opinion this dilemma stems from Hip-Hop music. As a black male I can see how some may feel this behavior might seem acceptable, due to the fact that 90 + % of Rap & Hip-Hop music includes the N word in them. So society has began to push it under the rug when these events take place.  But the latest celeb really caught me by surprise. 

A few days ago, videos were released to the media of Justin Bieber using racial slurs and making racist remarks about the KKK.

Its just sickening to me because of his stature of a person, his fan base, and who discovered him.  Someone thats become so much of an idolized individual by young teens across the world can be involved so many negative things over and over again.

The funny thing is that he was discovered by R&B sensation Usher and I know he wouldn't take this kind of behavior as a "friendly joke" or an accident.

He had this to say after the videos surfaced, after the source close to him was not paid the money demanded for the videos not to be leaked.

He said, he takes his friendships with people of all cultures very, seriously and he apologizes for offending or hurting anyone with my childish and inexcusable mistake. He was a kid then and He is a man now who knows his responsibility to the world and not to make that mistake again. 

I just think people should watch what they say especially those individuals in the spotlight because their following will see that behavior and think its acceptable or cool to mimic. Especially now with the advances in social media and the internet and events like this aren't going anywhere , because they're just one click away

Next Artist To Take Off!

From the tough beginnings of a rough childhood of New South Wales, the Australian, Amethyst Amelia Kelly, stage named Iggy Azalea burst on to the hip-hop music scene it seems like overnight.  From a young age Iggy was introduced to art because of her father being a comic artist and painter. At the young age of 14 she began rapping and was accompanied by her neighborhood friends in a music group. Although, after a few years the group fell out because they felt as if Iggy was too competitive for all of the spotlight. For a long time Iggy desired to move to the United States where hip-hop was established. Additionally she wanted to leave Australia because she felt like an outcast and was made fun of because of her funky outfits and handmade clothing. 

Its kind of humorous how she came upon her stage name. She combined her dog at the time Iggy and her street name Azalea. 

Making the jump to the US at the young age of 16 was hard for a young Iggy. At first she ventured to many states Texas, Georgia, and other southern states :before making a home in Miami, Florida. One of her hit singles "Work" explains her struggles and actual work she had to endure and go through to be on the level she's on currently. Iggy had to  clean holiday houses and hotels for a living upon her arrival to the US , as well as being a model for Levi's Jeans. 

It seems like yesterday, a friend had asked me if I had heard of Iggy Azalea. At first I had no interest of listening to her music, but after listening to her singles I fell in love, as well as other music lovers of the world.

In explanation of Iggy's genre of music and comparison, she's a rapper with the sound of a mixture of artist from the talented Nicky Minaj, with the iconic Madonna , and the legendary Missy Eliot all mixed in one. Her first mixtape, "Ignorant Art" is how she gained her popularity and attention from major record labels. Alongside, now of days with new artist in the music business comes a huge ordeal of drama and issues with contracts, what the label wants to hear from the artist, can the artist produce radio material hits and other label issues. 

Seeking out help and hip-hop guidance she found legendary rapper T.I. and was assisted on her debut album, "The New Classic". Her bumping singles, "Fancy, Change Your Life and Work" all topped musical charts across the industry. Her most popular song known as the anthem for girls across the world and club and radio banger "Fancy" reached the number one single of the year on the US Billboard Hot100 chart.  

In the next couple of months and in the future the Australian bombshell Iggy Azalea will soon take over the female rapper industry and pave the way for many talented female artist to burst onto the scene.
