What Can Cam Do?

Cam Can't Dance Out Of The Media

It seems as though Cam Newton has become the face of media scrutiny recently. In the past, the one that was looked at as this figure was LeBron James. He was ridiculed for his demeanor and cockiness but most of all his media moments. For Cam, the same reasoning is why every time you turn on ESPN or check twitter he's being discussed. From his celebrations, down to his everyday outfits are the topic of discussion.

Dab, Cam definitely likes to, at first was funny and entertaining but of course some things can rub everyone one wrong. The crazy thing is that there's some many other players' celebrations that come off more offensive. For example, Statefarm's spokesperson Aaron Rodgers' discount double check. For some its hilarious, but for others he's definitely bringing attention to an area that should be.......You know private.

Recently, Cam really took some shots from the media for not answering any questions after losing to the Denver Broncos this past weekend.

One can only imagine what's next for the 17-2, Carolina Panthers. But for Cam Newton, its obvious that they were outplayed but the video shows exactly how Cam felt. As the MVP of this past year left with a bitter taste to such a great season of accomplishments.

Bye Bye Chip !

Eagles Part Ways With Chip Kelly

After a 3 short years with the Eagles, Chip Kelly has been fired.

After the Eagles were eliminated from the playoff contentions, many knew this could be the last year for Chip. The Eagles at 6-9, have had a bunch of blowout games this season. Some of their multiple losses over 35 points.

Chip Kelly, previously at Oregon University and before that at New Hampshire University, developed a face paced, quick scoring, high- powered offense. After leaving Oregon, many knew he would try to bring that offense to the Eagles. The Kelly offense was quickly success in the first year because no one had seen this type of fast paced offense since the Buffalo Bills in the early 90's. At first, many defenders could be seen with their hands on their hips exhausted from the Eagles offense, but after the other teams around the league got used to the quick tempo, no huddle offense, it became much easier to stop. To add fuel to the fire, Chip got rid of a few key players, which ultimately didn't help towards the Eagles success.

He then brought in some that were supposed to spice things up. (DeMarco Murray, Sam Bradford,

ESPN's sources say that, Kelly told Fox Sports on Tuesday night that he didn't fight owner Jeffrey Lurie's decision to fire him. He also told Fox Sports that he wants to stay in the NFL rather than return to college coaching."-ESPN The Eagles Owner, Jefferey Lurie went on to say that he had been thinking about getting rid of Kelly weeks into the season because he just simply wasn't getting the job done.

Chip Kelly has made dramatic changes over the three years as the Eagles head coach. From the way the Eagles practice , to the way they eat and sleep. Kelly has made it known to the players, coaches, fans and organization that at the end of the day, culture beats scheme, anyway.

The Eagles started off the regular season at 1-3.

Sam Bradford, started out hot in the preseason, transitioned to looking so bad behind a shaky offensive line. And DeMarco Murray never seemed comfortable in Kelly's offense because it was so different from the previous Dallas Cowboy's running attack. It became apparent that the Eagles would continue down a dark road and soon butcher what had begun so memorably in Kelly's debut in the NFL vs Washington two years ago.

Odell Eat A Snickers!

Odell Beckham Jr. Goes Wild

There was a lot of hype going into the NY Giants vs the undefeated Carolina Panthers.

The main discussion was the standout NY Giants wide receiver vs shutdown cornerback Josh Norman. Norman has held the leagues top wide receivers to extremely limited games. To be exact, Josh Norman held DeAndre Hopkins, Mike Evans, TY Hilton, Dez Bryant, Julio Jones to 9 rec/89 yards…all combined.

So when the match up came this last weekend, the media and the league knew it would be one to remember.

The game would feature a top tier wide receiver that has been shredding defenses game after game, vs the corner who has been locking up every wide receiver that he lined up against.

Norman playing at the top of his game, knew he'd have his hands full with the league's most explosive wideout next to Antonio Brown. From the beginning of the game, the two competitors went after each other. But Odell Beckham Jr. found him self angry and frustrated after being held to zero catches in the first half of the ball game. Many are now saying said that the beef between the two had preexisted and then trickled into the game, before spiraling out of control. It didn't take very long for Beckham Jr. and Norman to get acquainted and interact. Coach Coflin stated that, "Beckham certainly was wrong, and we've said he was wrong from day one. But there were factors involved, starting in pregame, which are well documented, which indicate that there was an attempt to provoke him. He was provoked. He was out of control, he was wrong, there's no doubt about that. You'd like that it didn't happen. But the fact of the matter is, the situation in the pre game with a bat and if you know what occurred at the very beginning of the game, you can understand that there were two sides to this and not just one" (ESPN).

Norman ran toward Beckham after the first play despite covering Giants wide receiver Dwayne Harris on the outside and seemed to have some words for Beckham. After the fact, Beckham claimed that he swore at him and used a number of homophobic slurs.

It was not till after Beckham dropped a pass and the Panthers knew they were in his head. A few drives later, Beckham has his second drop of the game. He was clearly off his game. Norman, of course, was doing a lot of chirping in his ear afterwards.

After the small scuffle, things really spiraled out of control. Odell was flagged for four penalties, including three for unnecessary roughness. The foul that really stuck out was when Beckham went after Josh Norman going head to head which is banned by the league. As a result, he was fined  $52,529.94 and suspended for the following game vs the (9-5) Minnesota Vikings.

But Norman wasn't left out of the party, he was fined by the NFL a combined $26,044 for two offenses, which he also plans to appeal. His first $8,681 for a face mask incident and $17,363 for striking Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. in the head and neck area.  It was pretty sad to see the two going back and forth acting immaturely. But one must realize these are two competitors battling. Although similar match ups like Dez Bryant vs Richard Sherman didn't end in the way this one did this last weekend.  The two although wild in the on the field antics at times, played the game with much more sportsmanship and just played competitive football.

Odell Beckham Jr and Josh Norman should definitely be fined for their actions but if the league suspended one, they should have suspended the other as well. And a note for Odell would to be to work on his temper and have a better in game focus like the great wide receivers who let their game do the talking.

The 2015 NFL Draft Is Here!

The 2015 NFL Draft

Today is the one day that could change so many lives..

For about 4 to 5 years, thousands of men have endured the hard-fought seasons of college football hoping to one day hear their names called and shake hands with the NFL commissioner. Leading up to this day has so much media attention, high hearts and the sports world buzzing!

This year's draft will be lead by the competition of two great quarterbacks, whom both were Heisman recipients, Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota to see which QB will be taken first . A lot of NFL team's draft boards have Winston being taken first because he's considered a more "NFL" ready quarterback.

Winston is being regarded as a better fit because of his strong pocket presence as a college quarterback.

But the issue is Jameis Winston's  off the field issues, shenanigans and drama at FSU. Those problems ranging from sexual assault allegations to shoplifting accusations.

Although, Marcus Mariota is being shopped around as a better athlete. Mariota, is hands down  the fastest quarterback in the draft. He also has less character issues and a better off the field reputation.  However, the thing that separates the two is that, Mariota ran a typical spread offense. Generally, the QB's that come from spread offenses don't usually transition well into the NFL.  It will be exciting to see who gets chosen first today during the first round of the NFL draft.

Here is a mock draft by sports analyst Michael Brewer...

Michael Sam Back At Again

Michael Sam Claims He's Not Alone

With as much controversy that has around the National Football League in the past two years, nothing trumped the moment of its first openly gay player reaching the media on a large scale.

When the news broke that the former SEC Defensive Player of the year was openly gay, it had the sports world shocked because not only was Michael Sam from one of the hardest college football conferences in the nation, he had a great chance to get drafted into the NFL. Some felt that Michael Sam coming out may have hurt his chances of being drafted higher but after his performance at the NFL combine, many felt it showcase he got taken right where he should have been in the 7th round.

During the draft process, the media was undeniably only focused on Michael Sam being the first openly gay football player. They had little interest in his skills that brought him the title of SEC Defensive Player of the player. The obvious issue was that the NFL isn't a place to be mixed up with the idea of homosexuality and it stirred up huge controversies because of the NFL broadcasting Sam being drafted by the rams and his emotional reaction with his partner.

But this past Friday, Michael Sam hit the sports world with another jaw dropper. Sam in an TMZ interview claimed that he obtained information from a handful of players stating their sexual preferences.

Michael Sam in the interview stated that, "there are a lot of gay players in the NFL, including some famous people." But Sam says he is swore to secrecy and wont give up any names. -TMZ

He stands behind his claim that there are numerous players in the NFL that have hidden their sexuality for the longest in fear be being ripped by the media and belittled as men.

Michael Sam's solicitation definitely raises more eyebrows around the league. Now one must ponder if their favorite QB or Defensive Lineman have something big to hide.. Many understand that in life to each its own, but as a huge sports fan, I know personally and worldwide, fans would look at their favorite athlete much differently if they were to come out.. but that's just the society we live in.

Whats The NFL Off-Season Like?

NFL Off-Season

For most, the goal of reaching the NFL are slim. Once you reach the professional level of any sport, you have the obstacle or remaining with your team or keeping certain endorsements.

NFL players hate this time of the year because they have to most likely deal with the terms of their contract terms.

When speaking on terms of being an NFL player, the off-season can be a scary time period, unless your contract is secured and settled.

During the NFL off-season, many players have surgeries, have to find other means of work to survive a certain lifestyle, and some find themselves in limbo after their contracts are up. They must hope their agents and their seasonal play will either help them keep their jobs or assist them in making more money.

This season has been a whirlwind for a large majority of players dealing with contracts.

For the Houston Texas all-time career leader (receptions, receiving yards, receiving touchdowns), Andre Johnson has to now find a new home, after spending his entire career with the Texas.

He requested a trade after slowly finding himself in the passenger seat to that of the young and talented DeAndre Hopkins.

Another eye opener is the LeSean McCoy trade. After spending his entire career, college included in the state of Pennsylvania, the former Philadelphia Eagles RB, that holds the single reason rushing record in 2013 of 1,607, is headed to the Buffalo Bills.

For the Chicago Bears, their standout WR Brandon Marshall is headed to the NY Jets..

It seems like this year a lot of teams feel they need to rebuild and sign younger players to replace living legends.

So for NFL, this time period between the last game of the season and when OTA's being (organized team activities) start can be extremely stressful to manage.

But for veterans who have been in the NFL for a while, know how difficult the process is and try to to gradually teach younger NFL players the ropes.

More Drama from Brennan Clay

Months back,  former Oklahoma Sooner running back accused his former team mate, All-Pro Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray of having  an affair with his wife.

Like a young person, Clay took to social media, posting tweets and images of what he believed to be text messages being exchanged from his wife and DeMarco Murray during the summer.

It seemed like the drama was over, but yesterday the media learned that Brennan Clay lost it literally! TMZ covered the story, saying that Clay reportedly,  was arrested for assault after allegedly terrorizing his spouse.

On January 27th, Brennan Clay was arrested in Dallas. Cops on the scene and were told by his wife that Clay, broke into the room and began beating the life out of her, for a better choice of words.

The office police report states that Brennan Clay, threw her on the kitchen counter, dragged her downstairs, dragged her through shrubbery and then began to choke her.

Clay then, "brought her back into the house and "began punching and throwing her around the residence."

Luckily, Brennan Clay's wife Gina was able to reach a phone and call the authorities. The police were able to later locate Clay and arrest him on assault charges.

The NFL will definitely have their hands full with yet another domestic assault case.

Maurice Clarett Free At Last !

Former College Football All-star Maurice Clarett Off Probation

Many may remember Clarett as the former Ohio State football superstar. Today he was released from his 5 year probation sentencing stemming from robbery and weapons convictions in 2006.

Maurice Clarett said in court today that he is "finally ready to start the "next chapter" of his life." Whether it be trying to get his sports career back on track, try a corporate job or even try working in a department store, its great to see a man that was shackled with everything that could go wrong change his life and think positively.

In his era, Maurice Clarett  was collectively considered the best NCAA football player in the country. Clarett robbed two people at gunpoint in 2006,  allegedly, with a .45 caliber handgun, Clarett robbed two people and then escaped in a white SUV with two unidentified persons. Clarett reportedly got away with only a cell phone valued at $150 belonging to one of the victims. Later that year Clarett got busted with 4 guns and a hatchet in his car.

The  former Ohio State Buckeyes running back was then sentenced to more than 7 years in prison, but was released in 2010 and given 5 more years of probation.

But today, the 31-year-old appeared in an Ohio courtroom where the judge officially ended his probation two months early.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, the judge praised Clarett during the hearing as one of the "truly, truly wonderful success stories I've had as a judge."

The judge also added, "I am not rewarding Mr. Clarett ... Mr. Clarett is rewarding himself by what he accomplished during probation."

More Than a Kiss Coach? Bill Belichick Locks Lips with Daughter

Growing up some parents found a simple kiss on the lips of their children to be a nice expression of love. Over time, some still have continued this behavior until their children reach the age where its more acceptable to give cheek kisses.

But for Superbowl XLIX winner, Bill Belichick it was a different story. From the outside looking in, many were at awe and some even a bit grossed out from his actions during the post game celebration.

A normal person would think this image appears very controversial, as if there's extremely more than a lovingly father daughter type of relationship. To me it seems extremely weird because they look to be into it alittle more than a small child and their father.

NY Post covered the story from the angle of Bill Belichick being just very "emotional after such a hard fought game." But the type of kiss he gave his 30 year old daughter ! The kiss he gave his daughter was one maybe given to his spouse.

Some people went to Twitter to express their disgust and loss of respect for Bill Belichick saying, "That’s not right..." , "Lost all respect for Bill Belichick after that kiss."

I understand kisses and hugs are great expressions of emotion, but in this case one eyebrow is definitely raised at one of the greatest coaches ever.

A New Member Being Added to Legion of Boom?

Is Richard Sherman Fully Prepared?

Besides the fact that All Pro CB, Richard Sherman is preparing physically and mentally for the Superbowl, he is also now challenged with the fact that he is expecting the birth of his first child.

After injuring his elbow in the NFC Championship game, Sherman had to pay a visit to the doctor's office, but he also had to pay a visit with his girlfriend to find out the birth details on his expected child. Richard Sherman was very surprised to find out that his son wont be born in the next few days. In fact, he's likely to be born this weekend. To be safe about the situation, Richard Sherman flew his girlfriend Ashley Moss to Arizona. If she goes into Labor, they plan to have their child at a local hospital.

The obvious dawning question, what happens if Richard Sherman's girlfriend goes into labor during the Super Bowl? When asked about his literal game time decision, he said "We'll cross that bridge when we get there," Sherman said. "We're not thinking about the possibility." They have also determined a name for their son but they aren't going to reveal it to the general public.

Going into the big game on Sunday, Sherman says he will use the anticipation of his son as motivation and an inspiration to give it his all. He feels "As a parent, you want to set a great example for them, so I guess, to a degree, a lot of things are riding on it. It's someone that actually depends on you for everyday living and Everything they do is dependent on you and how you provide and how successful you are."

Dealing with something as special as birth, there's' a lot that comes into play. Now adding to that a moment another tremendous opportunity and event as the Superbowl, Richard Sherman definitely has a lot on his plate. In many regards, the birth of your child is described to be one of the best moments of your life. But on the other hand, NFL players describe winning a Superbowl to be almost on the same platform. Peyton Manning described it to be "It truly is a great feeling. The guys on Sunday will learn that when you win a championship, it’s not just you that wins; it’s your whole family. There are millions of people involved who all feel like they’re winning a championship, and that’s pretty special."

Its nice to see a calming and different side of Richard Sherman. We can see him to be more than the overly confident defensive back. We tend to hear him making harsh remarks and trash talking his competition but now he's a future dad and is facing the decision of a life. Superbowl XLIX Weekend will definitely be one to remeber for Richard Sherman.

Dirty Suh, Facing Yet Another Fine

More Dirty Play By NFL's Dirtiest Player

Known for his dirty on field play, the Detoit Lions' defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, received yet another fine after being suspended for stomping on Aaron Rodgers this past weekend. Although this time, Suh was able to get his one game suspension overturned by the NFL appeals officer Ted Cottrell.

With this case, Ndamukong Suh was be given a fine of $70,000. Many believe this was yet another dirty play by Suh. He's been known for his incidents ranging from dirty hits, ripping off helmets, kicking guys in the men's section and stomping on defenseless players.

Over the course of Ndamukong Suh's career, he has been fined 8 different times, racking up a sum of $216,875 and leaving him to be known as the National Football League's dirtiest and least liked player.

Suh, in an interview with XM Radio last year said, "I think I’ve definitely grown up quite a bit just understanding that if you’re not growing up, you’re just moving backward. I’m a person that always wants to move forward, always want to grow and learn and not be the smartest person in the room, because when you’re not the smartest person in the room, you’re always learning things. I’m a learner." These kinds of statements mixed with his recent actions, don't leave the sports world feeling that Suh has changed or will ever.

After this suspension, a few of Suh's teammates came to his backing. They claimed that Suh, "was a changed man, he hadn't caused any trouble this season and that he had been abiding by the leagues rules this season up until this point." -Washington Post

As the NFL's two time dirtiest player, Suh must learn to channel his anger and frustration from his personal life into good clean legal play. Actions like slamming a lineman's head to the group repeatedly and stomping a quarterback's ankle who's known to have lower leg injuries prior to the game, won't cut it if he wants people to opinions to change.

Harbaugh Taking His Talents to Ann Arbor

Harbaugh to be Named as Michigan Football Head Coach

After spending a number of years bouncing from college football to the NFL, Coach Jim Harbaugh found himself in San Fransico. Harbaugh coached his 49ers to  playoff wins for the first 3 seasons.  The Harbaugh brothers would become the first brothers in the National Football League to become head coaches.

Coach Harbaugh known for his success as a  coach, came in a restored yet another football program. Harbaugh built his team around his second round draft pick Colin Kapernick in 2011. At first, the 49ers head office and coach Harbaugh believed they had a gold mine in their quarterback position. After drafting Kapernick in 2011, the 49ers would go on to finish 13-3, after Kapernick took over for a seriously concussed, Alex Smith.

All expectations for the 2012 season were at an all time high. With a mastermind of a coach in Jim Harbaugh and a gun slinger in that of Colin Kapernick at the quarterback position, the 49ers organization were excited for what the future would be. The 49ers would finish 11-4 in the regular season and play the Ravens, but ultimately lost in a 34-30 thriller to the Baltimore Ravens.

The following season would end in the same dramatic fashion. The 49ers, again would lose in the NFC Championship game to a phenomenal play by none other than that of the ferocious Richard Sherman.

With mixed emotions about the past seasons' short comings, Colin Kapernick's media controversies , and a slow start to a mediocre 2014 season, 49ers owner Jed York came to the conclusion that they should go in a different route with who should be head coach in San Fransico.

After the team's win this past weekend vs the Arizona Cardinals,  Harbaugh received a traditional gatorade bath and game ball  but this would be his last celebration as a 49er.

Soon headed to the struggling University of Michigan, Harbaugh will again be faced with the challenge of establishing a winning culture to a football program that has had a rough 3 years of losing seasons. With the agreement and signing of a reported 6-yr/ $48 million contract, the monumental contract will make Jim Harbaugh the highest paid coach in college football history.

For those who know Harbaugh, describe him to be a great competitor, mentor, and father figure who has nothing but the upmost faith in his team, who deserves every penny.

In his post game interviews, a saddened and overwhelmed Jim Harbaugh, described his coaching career with the 49ers to be "the time of his life and that he can count only the 49 wins over the years as relevant."-ESPN Sources

Now as the sports world awaits the 2015-16 season, the Wolverine football program will also await and have high hopes as to what the future holds for the once power house in that of the University of Michigan.

No Jail Time for Vikings RB Adrian Peterson

No Jail for All Day Adrian Peterson!

In  this past week, Adrian Peterson plead no contest to charges of assault to his 4 year old son. The terms of his deal was a plead to a no jail time, $4000 fine, and 80 hours of community service. In all honesty, Peterson got very lucky for the deal he was able to receive. According to ESPN sources, AP could have faced up two years of prison and fined over $10,000 dollars.

Earlier this seasonPeterson was indicted in September on a felony charge of injury to a child. This charge was  for using a wooden switch to discipline his 4-year-old son. Minnesota Vikings All-Pro running back says he never meant to harm his son and was disciplining him in the same way he had been as a child growing up in East Texas. His son suffered some serve bruising, and cuts on his back, thighs and lower regions of his body.

Peterson's Attorney, Rusty Hardin, issued a couple of statements to the media saying, "He loves his son. He wants to reestablish a relationship with him," Hardin said. "He obviously hates what has happened to him and his reputation and the public perception. Also saying that, AP would like to rehabilitate his image within the public, and people's perception, because he and everybody close to him knows that it's a wrong perception. He's a caring and loving father. He loves kids, and he hates that this happened."

What many people are wondering is if Adrian Peterson will be reinstated or face further sanctions by the NFL. Commissioner Roger Goodell must make the decision to allow Peterson back into the league or cut his career short. Once reinstated, the Minnesota Vikings could either reactive AP or release him. Peterson must also talk with the players union and regain their permission as well. On a good note, a good handful of Vikings Players and other players on the board of the players union were said they "would welcome Adrian with open hands."

I feel the Vikings would be more complete with their All Pro Running back and team captain , regardless if he was playing or suspended for the remainder of the 14-15 season.

Vikings' All Pro Tight End, Kyle Rudolph, addressed the topic this week after practice saying, "We all know the kind of person he is, We've stood behind him this whole time. You'd be crazy not to welcome him back into that locker room. It would be a big pickup for this locker room being we have so many young guys. Any time you can have a veteran back in that locker room, the leader that he is in the locker room, out on the practice field, would be huge for us, Guys have chatted amongst each other, and I don't think there's anyone in that locker room that would need to hear from him. We all know the kind of person Adrian is, and I feel like he's proven that over his time here."

Others to speak and touch on Peterson's return to the Vikings, was Fullback Jerome Felton. Felton stated that, "He's one of the best players in the world, and he's obviously somebody who's meant a lot to this community, meant a lot for the team, He's one of our leaders. He was up here in the off-season. People follow his lead because of how hard he works. So it'd be pretty nice to add that back into the team."

As the regular season games are beginning to become fewer in number, the Vikings who are only a few games behind division leaders the Detroit Lions, Peterson would add a great presence in the backfield to compliment his counterpart Matt Aisata, whom is having the season of his career with over 270 yards on the ground, reaching the end zone 6 times this season.

In all many fans would love to see Adrian Peterson return to the Vikings organization, but many would also appreciate his suspension to be continued through this season as a punishment for his actions and to also be an example for other players in the league to properly discipline their children.

Minnesota Vikings Crush the Atlanta Falcons

Vikings Push for what may be the biggest win of the year

Coming into the game Sunday, spirits were high because the Minnesota Viking's first round draft pick, Teddy Bridgewater was set to start and could turn the whole season around and hopefully show he could be a franchise player.

There's no doubt that the Vikings were saddened and embarrassed about the Adrian Peterson child abuse scandal but Head Coach Mike Zimmer made it apparent that they weren't going to let that be a team focus anymore and that the Vikings organization still has a lot to play for.

Mike Zimmer also made it known that he still has nothing but love for their future Hall of Fame running back, in that of Adrian Peterson. He said, "have no doubt I still love Adrian, I feel for him that he's going through this, because I think he's one of my guys. I believe in this situation, where everything is, this is the right way to go.

As for the game this past weekend vs a potent Atlanta Falcons, the Vikings exploded with offense led by rookie QB Teddy Bridgewater. He went 19/30 in the air for 317 yards. He was accompanied by Peterson's backup Matt Asiata who played a phenomenal game rushing for 80 yards with 3 touchdowns. For the receiving core, Jarius Wright led the way with 132 yards on 8 catches but didn't find the end-zone.

The Vikings just rallied together and played their tails off to a team that has just put a whooping on Tampa Bay, routing them 56-14 on Monday Night Football.

Zimmer believes that the sharing of Adrian Peterson's pregame text message with the team helped boost their confidence and outlook to the game they were about to play. In the post-game interviews Zimmer expressed that, "the words that Adrian texted were very deep, One thing the players took away from that message was, play each down like it's your last, because you never know when it's going to be your last opportunity." Mike Zimmer  I think the guys got that message pretty well, with the 41-28 victory of the Atlanta Falcons.

Ray Rice Exposed

During the off season of this past year, Baltimore Ravens All-Pro Running back Ray Rice was reportedly arrested for domestic abuse of his fiance, now wife, Janay Palmer during an altercation in Atlantic City.

After the Ravens and Rice addressed the matter it seemed like Ray Rice got off a little too easy. Rice was only suspended for the first two games of the 2014 season. To some, two games seems very light for the serious issue of domestic battery. NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, has admitted he messed up and didn't handle the issue properly. He felt that he didn't have too much to go off of besides the police reports.

So he did what he thought was reasonable at the time by only giving a Rice a suspension. Goodell didn't undo the damage he did to himself and his brand with his original and weak sanctions for Rice, but he did admit to making a mistake like this in front of his sport, and in front of the country.

With the media and fans demanding more punishment for Ray Rice's actions, it seems like the releasing of the TMZ video was perfectly timed in some sense. It leaves many people to wonder why we just were exposed to video today? This whole Rice case is a media frenzy and nightmare for the NFL because they had no other option than to cut an All-Pro, Superbowl Champion Ray Rice.

Rice, 27, whom just reached terms with the Ravens for a 5-yr/$40 million contract is out of a job, out of the NFL and stuck at a cross roads. Just after the Baltimore Ravens terminated his contract, NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell decided that he was suspending Ray Rice indefinitely.

To make matters worse, for most players stricken from the NFL or out of a job, they tend to turn to the Canadian Football League. Although, for Ray Rice, he is out of luck. CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon, released a statement saying,"he informed CFL teams that they will be honoring the NFL's suspension of Ray Rice."

Brown's Rookie CB Justin Gilbert's Seeing Dollar Signs!

Brown's Rookie CB Justin Gilbert

The former Oklahoma State Cowboy, is one hell of an athlete and a steal for the Browns organization. At OSU, a 2013 Unanimous All-American, Jim Thorpe Finalist, was one of the most experienced and talented defensive players out of the Big XII Conference.

As a freshman to his senior year, OSU fans and the sports world watched Gilbert transform into an elusive, power and explosive footballer on defensive and specials teams as an elite returner and defensive back. As a kick returner, Gilbert owns the OSU record and is tied for the Big 12 record with five career kickoff returns for touchdowns . Gilbert is second all-time at OSU and in the Big 12 Conference's top 10 with 2,228 kickoff return yards. At OSU, he trails only Big 12 record holder Perrish Cox, who had 2,804 yards in four seasons. Justin Gilbert recieved Honorable mention All-Big 12 in the return game in 2011. He entered the 2013 season second among all active NCAA players with his five kickoff returns for scores . Gilbert had a career return average of 26.5 yards.

In 51 career games at Oklahoma State, Gilbert registered 182 total tackles, 157 of which were solo stops, broke up 27 passes and intercepted 12 others. He comes into the NFL after a career year with seven interceptions in 2013.

Gilbert generated a lot of buzz leading up to the draft due to his impressive combination of size, speed and athleticism.

Right away, the Brown's look for their 1st round draft pick to have a great impact on defensive and be a great contributor on special teams as well. ESPN sources say, "Gilbert is showing the flashes and reasons why he was drafted 8th overall in the 2014 draft."

The Rookie CB, Gilbert has agreed to and signed a hefty rookie contract with the Cleveland Browns. Gilbert signed later this month, to a pretty 4-yr/$12.8 million!! The 4-yr contract also includes a nice $7.65 million signing bonus.

Gilbert will learn from the best, with his counterpart All Pro, Defensive Back Joe Haden.
Haden believes that the two will be an unbelievable duo when he develops into a great NFL caliber defensive back and contribute greatly in the Brown's secondary.

All Pro Defensive back, Joe Haden said, "He's a really, really talented player, he turns the ball over. He's able to get the ball back to the offense, very, very athletic. With his return skills, when he gets the ball in his hands, he's automatically ready to get to the end zone. I'm really glad that we got him. He's just got to learn, come out here and work hard, and he could definitely be a big part to help the team."

5 Reasons Why Johnny Manziel Should Be Named Starter

Johnny Manziel, rated one of the best quarterbacks ever to play college football and arguably one of the best college athletes ever. In the public eye, people see the wild off the field demeanor of a young, wealthy, lavish celebrity athlete. But under the lights, and on the field focus and success is a stud of an athlete that should be named the starter for the upcoming season of the NFL 2014-2015 Season. Here's why....

First off, Johnny Manziel, although a party boy is very committed and dedicated to the game of football. He's a ferocious competitor, and wants to win by any means. Just turn on the film from his HEISMAN Trophy winning season. In that tape you'll see a quarterback laying it all on the line every single game, escaping the massive pass rushers of the SEC Conference, rushing for more than 1400 yards, another 3000 in the air, and accountable for 80% of Texas A & M's touchdowns.

Johnny, only 6'0 is a way more and elusive fit of the transition to run and gun quarterbacks in the NFL unlike Browns other QB Brian Hoyer. Hoyer is also recovering from a devastating ACL injury from the past season. So unless he and Adrian Peterson went to the same doctor, the chances of him coming back just as strong are slim to none. But only time will tell  and Brown's Head coach Mike Pettine.

Another reason to why the Browns should pick Johnny Manziel as the start; TICKET SALES. No Dogpound fans are coming to watch their first round, 22nd NFL Draft Pick sit the bench and "Learn" as the sports world puts it. The fans will flood in First Energy to see Johnny Football do what he does best- Make plays! Besides his now "again Cleveland counterpart" LeBron James, Johnny Football AKA Johnny Manziel has become the favored and most trendy athlete.

Potential is a big discussion on the QB battle in Cleveland. Hoyer, 28 had a mediocre season in my opinion. Hoyer only made three starts last season, throwing for 615 yards, five touchdowns, three interceptions.

Manziel 21, has far more potential in many eyes. Manziel is great at moving around in the pocket and creating something out of nothing. He is definitely going to struggle in the beginning, like all young quarterbacks do, but in the long run it will be better for him to take on the struggles early in his career than to sit behind Hoyer and not see the field until later in the season for the Browns.

The NFL days of drafting a quarterback early and letting him develop behind a veteran on the bench are over, after big time run and shoot QB's like RGIII, Andrew Luck and Pro Bowl, Superbowl Champion Russell Wilson have had such a positive impact as rookies.

Lastly, I mean come on its Johnny Football we've all been waiting to see what the guy can do. As a college QB many doubted his ability to transfer his skills to the pros , but here we are in the midst of another season in which Manziel is a Cleveland Brown, Nike athlete and a household name that Cleveland Fans and the sports world as waiting to see play Quaterbackin the NFL.
